    Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)

    The cause of BV is unknown, but it is linked to an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the vagina. BV will sometimes go away without treatment but if you have symptoms and a positive BV test result, treatment will be required.

    Vaginitis/Trichomoniasis Vaginitis

    TV or trichomoniasis is a very common STD among women. About 70% of people will not have symptoms and if left untreated, it can remain for months or even years. It is not possible to diagnose trichomoniasis based on symptoms alone, so testing is important.

    BV symptoms may not always be evident, but when they manifest, they may encompass:

    * Vaginal fish-like odor, especially after sex

    * Vaginal discharge that is gray or white, foamy, or watery

    * Pain, burning, or itching in the vagina

    * Itching outside the vagina

    * Burning feeling when urinating

    One prominent symptom of BV is a strong-smelling vaginal discharge. In certain cases, the odor may intensify after unprotected sexual intercourse when semen combines with the discharge.

    Moreover, BV symptoms resemble those of other vaginal conditions. If the symptoms persist, seeking guidance from a healthcare professional can be advantageous.
